Users Cannot Send email to Particular Domain

Hi,

We use Exchange server 2010 on site and we noticed that we cant send email to one particular domain but we were able to receive their email.

we have no firewalls blocks out outgoing traffic. but we do have separate public IPs for inbound and outbound email connections.

after sending email to that particular domain it gets failed stays in message queue status " Retry" DNS Connector Delivery .

Last Error: 400 4.4.7 Message delayed

we do have some users mailbox in exchange online, they were able to send email to that particular domain.

only users with on premises cant sent email to that domain, any advise will be helpful

I restarted Exchange 2010 SP2 server after almost 2 years and now IIS Admin service can not start. When i tried to start

service it gives me an error

I tried following but still no success.

1. rename MetaBase.xml and restore newest and oldest file from C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\History to C:\Windows

\System32\inetsrv
2. Verified C23* key GUID agaist registry and its matched, the key which is after "_"
3. Verified System and Administrator security permission on C23* machine key as well as MachineKey folder from C:\Users

\all users\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA\MachineKeys
4. Rename machinekeys folder and restart server to generate new folder with same key but didnt work.

I followed all above steps without any success.


Now my final hope is from you techies. Please let me know possible resolution except reinstalling IIS 7 and Exchange 2010.

Recover mails from Exchange 2010 EDB File

Hi, 

We had a issue with our Exchange 2010 and had to restore to a different server.

There Is some mails that went missing.

i Need to restore from another backup but cant drop the existing mailboxes.

So i was thinking of exporting mailboxes with issues to PST files and import on users outlook to sync or if i can merge the mailboxed with EDB file....

Exporting to pst would prob be safer...

Trouble uninstalling Edge Transport Server

I am having issues uninstalling Exchange 2010 Edge Transport from my environment.  We have gone to Office 365 and are working on decommissioning our old Exchange servers.  


I have run into an issue uninstalling Exchange from my Edge Transport.  I have to remove the Edge Subscription, but it fails saying the it was unable to contact the LDAP server.  I am assuming there is an issue with ADAM on the Edge Transport server, but I have no idea how to confirm if it is working or how to troubleshoot it.  


I want to decommission this correctly and make sure that Exchange gets properly uninstalled.  Any help that can be provided will be greatly appreciated.

Restore user mailbox databse that has been purged from exchange 2010 disconnected mailbox after retention period expired.

several users from my company have been suspended and their usernames and mailboxes database have been disconnected. The default retention period on our mailbox database is 30 days. These mailboxes databse have been showing under disconnected mail until recently they disappeared. Now the users were reinstated and I want to reconnect their mailboxes databases but can't find it anymore.

How can I restore/recover these deleted mailboxes database in exchange 2010?

Exchange 2010 inbound emails per user report

Hi we have an exchange 2010 server we are phasing out. All user emails are forwarded to office 365 but we need a report that shows the amount of emails coming into the old server per user.

I tried email stats from the below link but it only shows a few users.

Update Rollup 30 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3

Hi Experts 

I am using exchange 2010 hybrid environment and my current exchange build version is Update Rollup 20 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3.
I want to update it to Update Rollup 30 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3(14.3.496.0) released on Feb11 2020.I never worked on exchange 2010.
So experts guide me

1.Do my exchange servers require reboot after this upgrade.
2.I need to just run the setup file or any other changes required before the setup.
3.What health checks do i need to perform before and after update.
4.Is there any order of update i.e  like first DAG servers, next CAS servers

Hybrid Deployment - Room Mailbox

We have a hybrid deployment between Exchange 2010 sp3 and Office 365. Currently we are just testing hosted email so we only have 25 users on the online side, but these users are unable to use the Room mailboxes on the Exchange side, it just adds the items onto the calendar as tentetive and does not complete the request.

The free/busy status is working both ways and I've tried setting one of the rooms to 'set-CalendaProcessing -ProcessExternal MeetingMessages: $true' with no luck. The room's must stay on the Exchange side, any ideas as to what I should be looking for?

outlook asking for password when accessing Mailarchiva's Folder

Hello Friends,
I have exchange 2010 and Mailarchiva's as archiving solution. Issue is when user is accessing archive emails, it is asking for the password (every time)
Here is how we are accessing emails from the archive ( Mailarchiva's.) 
1. Enable Home Folder option in Outlook. 
2. Once the home folder is visible then We create a new folder in outlook say "MailArchive". Right click on the newly created folder, in the home folder option we are giving a URL.  
3. Let's assumed that the URL is also configured. 
4. Users login into the outlook then to access archive emails, users click on "MailArchive" Folder. Now for the first time, it is asking user name and password that's ok but after switching the folders again user wants to access archive emails then again users are getting the username & password screen. 

This is happening with only 3-4 users. 
Same profile I have configured on another system it works but not working in his/her computer. 
So I concluded that something is wrong with the computer. Don't have any issues with the exchange or archive system. 

Please suggest troubleshooting steps.

Removing Mailbox DB - User Account explanation? Federation, Approval Assistant, Exchange

We have a Exchange 2010 Server with a Hybrid Connection to the Cloud. 

I'm looking to shrink the DBs that were used. I have been able to get all of them removed but one.

I have two Mailbox DBs.  

DB1 is the old Exising 300GB DB

DB2 is a New Empty DB

I want to Transfer everything that is on DB1 to DB2 and then just remove DB1.

Going through the Mailbox DB like I did the others I can see there are other Mailboxes left besides the SystemMailbox{GUID}. These are the Mailboxes that I found. Can I move them and what are they?

Hello,

Could you please provide a powershell script which will extract report of owners in public folder.

It should connect to only one PF server and generate the report

Checked the script at scriptcentre but it is connecting to all servers in the infra

Rebuild catalog index on large mailbox databases exchange 2010

Hi I need to rebuild the index on a few large databases.

Couple of questions, i understand how to do it. My question is for user impact (performance) and backups.

we have NON-DAG 2010 at the moment. (had a DR issue and ready to migrate to highly resilient 2016 env soon)

1) how much of a performance hit do users on the database in question take? is it slow like they have to wait 10 minutes for a search result that may or may not exist, or does the crawling slow down the database server so much that it impacts ALL users on the db and outlook online mode and owa is unusable?

2) I've seen some conflicting evidence that backups cannot be performed on on-DAG dbs while the index is crawling. is that correct?

3) how long could this take? one of our dbs is 1.2 TB big. ( I know its big)

I've been charged with migrating to exchange 2016.

I've also been charged with securing the existing exchange 2010 platform that exists.

There's 2 front end HUB/CAS servers and 3 backend mailbox servers.

all 2008 r2 with latest updates and cu30.

One of the main lacking security items on this legacy platform is ciphers, ssl/tls versions are way behind and i am not sure the best way to do this to not break client access and cause a problem with exchange itself.

I've found that IIS Crypto tool is an easy way to comply with the latest ciphers and tls/ssl settings.

Is this true? Any issues with 2008 r2/exchange 2010 that I should be aware of?

I'm going to test this in a lab, but that isnt exactly a mirror image of our production env.

cann't open another's calendar in outlook or OWA

hi everyone!!

after upgrade my exchnage 2010 to rollup 30 i notice in outlook that users can't check other user's calendar.

no free/busy information could be retrieved this is what i see. and this is happening for all users now.(before i was working for all)

i tried also from OWA with no luck , if i choose to open other user calendar i receives : "This folder couldn't be opened...")

Hi experts

i am completely new to exchange 2010 and new to company, i am using exchange 2010 hybrid environment, i have worked earlier on exchange 2016. I dont have much idea about exchange 2010 as the architecture is different. we hardly have 10 mailboxes in exchange 2010 onprem and we basically create mailboxes in exchange onprem and
migrate it to cloud. currently we have 15000 users in cloud.

When i use the below syntax i can see by the naming convention there are 6 CAS servers and 3 DAG servers,
CAS01 to CAS06-->Hub transport and client Access roles are installed , DAG01 to DAG03-Mailbox server role is installed.

Using the below syntax i can see i am using Update Rollup 21 for Exchange Server 2010 SP3

1. Current latest rollup is 30 as per the below article, do i need to first update the rollup on CAS servers or DAG servers

Migration to 2016 - Public Folder issue

Hi all. I am performing a migration from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2016. This is for a small customer...less than 20 employees. All mailboxes are migrating just fine, and email delivery is working smoothly. I am, of course, having major problems with the public folders. Even though this customer is small, they use their public folders heavily. The DB size for the public folders is around 220 GB currently, which is just about equal to the size of the mailbox database. There are thousands of folders in the public folders, and almost all of them have a space in the name and alias. I know I have to fix this for the migration, so I've been trying to run a couple of powershell scripts I have found online. My problem? The scripts run, but they do nothing. It would look like they are working, but when I check the folders afterward nothing has changed. I suspect, although I am not sure, that this has to do with the size of the pf database and the number of folders. I say this because if I run the same script on a single folder it works. I have included one of the scripts I am using below. Does anybody have any ideas on what I can do to get around this issue? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

We currently have an Exchange 2010 On-Prem Server that we use to create users and then Migrate them to Office365.  We have Local On-Prem DCs in 5 Offices. It is kind of a pain to create users locally, then have to migrate them to Online, though having Online-AzureAD is also not cheap and I'm not sure how that works with on-Prem Authentication.

So my Question is, which should I do. :

  1. Install a new On-Prem to Exchange 2019, Remove Exchange 2010 Server, Keep Running Hybrid?
  2. Can you use Exchange Online Only but still have Local AD?
  3. Move AD to the Cloud and just remove the On-Prem 2010 Server?

I have a problem with indexing some mailbox items with error 'Unknown Error Code: 0x8007007E'. All index state in mailboxdatabase is Healthy. 

What is a error and how I can fix it? thanx!

O envio/recebimento de e-mails da empresa para de funcionar diariamente, cerca de 01 a 02x, quando reinicio o servidor, ou os serviços do exchange, os e-mail voltam a funcionar.
