Hi all
We have mail for two domains hosted on the same exchange server.
I want to set up an email account on each with the same name.
i.e. sales@domain1.com& sales@domain2.com
However when I try to do this I get an error 'The value 'sales' blah blah is used by another recipient object.
Is it possible to set this up?

I have a manager that wants access to all users mailboxes in our environment through his outlook client. We presently have a single Mailbox server with a single database. I have played around withAdd-ADPermission -identity "mailbox database" -user "serviceaccount" -ExtendedRights Receive-AsandAdd-MailboxPermission -identity "user" -user "serviceaccount" -AccessRights FullAccess for a a sinlge mailbox and haven't been able to access it through outlook. Can any one tell me what the best console command would be to provide this access? Is there a reference for -ExtendedRights?

I'm looking at an Exchange 2010 install with a root domain, user child domain, resource child domain (where servers are located), and few other child domains operated by other company entities. Single forest, one exchange organization. All DCs are 2008r2. Exchange is also installed on 2008 r2.
The resource child domain contains a multi-node DAG with multiple copies of databases. I've been testing the same configuration in a test lab to determine the dependency list of exchange components in various scenarios. I've noted two so far, and wonder how to best prepare for the "day" when things break.
One is the restart sequence for active directory. While you may have multiple DNS servers specified, it seems that Windows has problems using the second or third DNS entry (at least quickly ) to get a DC up and running. Is there a recommended way to configure DNS settings for DCs in a child domain. Should they point to themselves first, root domain second...all point at root domain, etc.
One of the tests I performed was to replicate the user account child domain DNS to all DCs in the forest. Even in the absence of the root domain controllers being up, machines seemed sluggish to resolve names or servers in the user account child domain, despite having a copy of the zone. This seemed to be resolved once the Root DCs/DNS were started.
Along the same lines of a test, trying to get Exchange up fully without the root DCs seems to be problematic. Scenario...root DCs are down, but both the child user account domain and resource domains DCs are all functional. Even with the child domain user acct zone replicated to all DCs. Unless the root zone DC was up..System attendant service on the Exchange DAG nodes would not start. So despite knowing where the child user domain was, it seemed unable to resolve things properly until the root was configured. Any suggestions for Exchange configuration tweaks in a resource child domain and User child domain??

I've tried a zillion things in the Actions panel and I still get an opcode of 2, supposedly meaning the file can't be found...AND no events ever get written into the log.
The parameters line is:
-version 2.0 -NonInteractive -WindowStyle Hidden -command ". 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\bin\RemoteExchange.ps1'; Connect-ExchangeServer -auto; C:\scripts\Troubleshoot-DatabaseSpace.ps1 -Server e10 -PercentEdbFreeSpaceThreshold 10 -PercentLogFreeSpaceThreshold 10"
I get the same result if I point to this file in the Exchange scripts folder, I copied it from there into C:\scripts.
The action to run is:
C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe
The Start In is:
C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\
What is wrong with my setup, please????????
Scripts permission is RemoteSigned, the script works with all these parameters etc. if I manually run it from a batch file.

Hello All,
I am seeing some log line in my SMTP Receive Connector logs stating that a message was tarpitted for X seconds due to back pressure. I have seen these types of issues before; however, they always were accompanied by an event log entry stating why the back pressure value was elevated to "medium" or "high". In this instance I'm not seeing any events in the event log regarding back pressure. I have searched for all known back pressure event IDs (15004 - 15007) and am unable to locate any. My EdgeTransport.exe.config is pretty much baseline as well. I do have the tarpit interval on the receive connector in question set to 00:00:00. Any assistance with troubleshooting this would be greatly appreciated.

Trying to stop the following error from populating the Application log, current over 200000 errors in the last 13 days
Mapi session /o=<DOMAIN>/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=5236271ed5544b8b9b23f4e61f5af897-<USERNAME> with client type MoMT exceeded the maximum of 500 objects of type Folder.
I've tried increasing the objtFolder Store limit in the registry however all this resulted in was the servers response time slowing down and taking 8 seconds to respond to a key stroke and changing the error to the increased limit. So I've reverted this change.
I've followed this Technet Article to set the maximum allowed sessions per user which has seemed to have stopped some of the errors from other users however still get it repeating for 2 users one of which I can find
I note at the bottom of the linked article it says there is no fix for this, is this just something I will have to ignore?

I have a problem with exchange transport. I have to restart it ever week since my client always complaining about cannot send and recieve emails form external domain including Yahoo and especially Gmail.

Am currently using Outlook 2010 (Microsoft exchange account) on Windows 7. After I opened an email marked with "flagged by sender", subsequently all other emails that I open will automatically be flagged as "flagged by sender". This automatic flagging does not occur if I were to read the email via reading pane.
The flagged email does not appear in my task folder or task to-do sidebar. Still it is considered as flagged, with an empty flag status message at the top of an opened email (displaying "1. ") and when I print an email Memo style.
I have checked the Rules and Alert, but it was empty.
Does anyone knows what's going on?
Also, is there a way to stop this auto-flagging behaviour?

We have 2 EX2010 servers, DAG is configured with Share Majority.
When Internet channel is down in Branch Office (Master Server) All bases are dismounted. So we have no profit from such configuration of Cluster. Please advice actions to avoid this and to reconfigure cluster with right way.

I have created a new distribution group using exchange management console and added myself and one of our users in the Managed By section as well as putting the user in the members section. By following the steps below if I do it I am able to add additional members from OWA but the user is not able to, she only sees herself as a member and can view some information but she does not have the "Public Groups I Own" section at all.
I assume I am missing some permission that I need to provide in active directory but am unsure, any help would be greatly appreciated.
In my exchange 2010 environment number of different users received the below message from exchange:
This message hasn't been delivered yet. Delivery will continue to be attempted.
The server will keep trying to deliver this message for the next 1 days, 19 hours and 56 minutes. You'll be notified if the message can't be delivered by that time.
while they sending email to different domains any advise or someone shed some light on it much appreciated.

You can't send a message on behalf of this user unless you have permission to do so. Please make sure you're sending on behalf of the correct sender, or request the necessary permission. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk.
I have give permission for send as well. No luck. Pls help.
