Outlook 2013 and Office 365 Compatibility

$
0
0

I have been using Outlook 2013 for 3 different GoDaddy email accounts with no problems UNTIL this weekend, when after a year I finally used the GoDaddy portal to Office 365 to set up.  At the same time, my OneDrive was out of space - so I purchased the OneDrive Home option, but did not install Office 365 because I have Office 2013 installed WHICH IS NOT A SUBSCRIPTION so I would like to keep the 2013 version so I'm not paying an annual fee.  However, I am having pop-ups on the Outlook - both "administrator" and "connector" (the latter I have never seen before), asking for my password.

It's already been aggravating enough because I just eliminated one of the 3 GoDaddy accounts 2 weeks ago and cannot remove it from Outlook without removing the others and have too many important folders connected one of the 2 remaining accounts, so I have the pop-up from the non-existent email and the other 2 accounts.

Is there a fix?  I have a feeling I have to install the Office 365 and give up my Office 2013 for the fix.  I hope not, because then it just looks like another Microsoft money grab.

Thank you,

Renee

Dear Expert,

I want to move Exchange Server 2010 sp1 Hub Transport Role to New Machine.

Currently on One Server both the Hub & CAS Role is working, want to move the only Hub Role to New Machine, what are easiest way to move the entire Hub configuration so that outlook automatically redirects through the new Hub Role.Windows 2008 R2 is the windows while Server is virtual.

Exchange server 2010 , failure to send an AutodiscoverPOST request, Outlook 2016 fails to Autodiscover on internet only

We have an exchange server 2010 SP3, serving Outlook 2010,2013 and 2016 clients. When the server was set up for auto-discover one test in the MS Outlook connectivity  kept failing but the overall test said that auto-discovery was working. The test that is failing is

Image

We recently purchased MS Office 2016 for two clients. These clients connect locally using Auto-discover, but do not connect using Auto-discover over the internet. We use a split DNS where by the internal network is .local and the external DNS is hosted somewhere else. I have tried altering the DNS settings as suggested in other articles. But the result was no email from the internet. Local email only. So if the above issue is stopping Outlook 2016 from functioning outside the local network. How do I fix Exchange 2010 to get Outlook 2016 to work from the internet? I may add that Outlook 2010 and 2013 clients work with auto-discovery both inside the network and from the internet.

Outlook keeps prompting for password

This is a weird situation.  User logs in to domain without issues and is able to access outlook.  However, during the middle of the day,  outlook keeps prompting user for authentication or password.

Profile has been re-created.  ESSO cache was cleared, but still the same thing. Created separate email profile for other email accounts she access, but same issue still occurs.

Has anyone seen this issue and what resolution have you used.

Outlook 2016 Fails Authentication with local login account before trying account email credentials

I am running Outlook 2016 on Windows 10.  I am connecting to an on-premise Exchange 2010 with my employer.  I am told that my client is failing authentication every time I open Outlook several times (10 to 30 times) by sending the locally logged on credentials to Exchange.  Then,  the authentication switches to the account credentials identified in the Exchange email account setup and everything is fine.  Why does Outlook send the local computer login credentials to Exchange before trying the credentials set for the particular mail account?

I have completely removed all stored credentials in credential manager and removed the email account.  I installed the email account as the only account on the computer.  Same thing happens.  I have tried "prompt for credentials" on the account and have tried both "save password for this account" checked and unchecked.  It makes no difference.  Outlook still sends the local login credentials first.

I have also tried logging into the computer with a Microsoft account and with a local machine account.  Same results either way.

Has anyone witnessed this behavior?

Does my log show that my email was sent out our exchange server?

We are having issues receiving emails from one of our servers to our gmail account. All our mail goes through our Exchange Server. After showing Google our exchange message tracking results they say there is no indication that the email ever left our Exchange Server. There are two rows, one say receive and the other says send. Doesn't that mean it was sent. If it is being sent out, is there a way to track the email to see where it's getting blocked? Thanks

conflicting active sync policies set via 2 different management consoles

$

We are  doing a risk assessment of certain security settings on a number of our key systems, including 3 internal 2010 exchange servers. on each server, we can go to the exchange management console and view the active sync policies within organization configuration > client access > exchange ActiveSync mailbox policies. There are some concerns about the active sync policies set here. However, the admin has shown some completely contradictory AS policies set in some sort of web admin console (exchange control panel? > phone & video > ActiveSync access?). How can we tell which policies are taking effect, or whether both are valid. Or can policies set via either management console, if so which takes precedent and overrules the other?

    Mail routing challenge

    $
    0
    0

I have a couple of different old sharepoint servers, and an Exchange 2010 server.  Both sharepoint servers send mail by relaying messages through the exchange server as its "smarthost".  For incoming mail, I create exchange contacts with an external SMTP address that is a sharepoint email address... and using that method both servers are able to receive incoming mail. I have send and receive connectors for both, setup long ago. As such, both sharepoint servers successfully send (via workflow) and receive emails to both internal and external addresses.

Now I'm trying to have a workflow from sharepoint server send email to the other sharepoint server, and that specific instance is failing.  I know server A is sending.  If I change the address to my own I receive the mail.  I know server B is receiving, as stated above.

With as many times as I used the word "sharepoint", I could see this being posted to a sharepoint forum, but I really think this is some sort of routing problem within exchange... which is a sort of weak subject for me.

Can anyone see the answer through this mess above by chance?

Certificate Pinning on Outlook Anywhere and OWA?

    Hi,

To boost security and mitigate the risks of someone offloading the OWA/OutlookAnywhere traffic on WebProxy, I would like to implement certificate pinning on these services. I cannot however locate any instructions on how to do this.

Does anyone happen to know, is this feature supported by MS? Or do I need to come up with some customized solution? :)

    Hi,

When I migrate a mailbox with new-moverequest they have to change their password on first login. This is preventing remote users from logging on as OWA just says incorrect usename or password and outlook client tells them they need to change their password then says cannot connect when you click ok.

These mailboxes have moved from a different domain.
