emails not received in outlook but can see them on iphone

hi, we have a user who is receiving emails on both on iphone and outlook. but, recently i was surprised to see there was an email received on iphone but not on outlook. after going through technet forums i thought the local OST is corrupted, then i deleted it re-synced the mailbox which sorted the issue. but this has happened to again to same user. i can see the emails before 10mins and after few mins of the time of the email in question. re-syncing is not ideal solution. any help would be appreciated. now, i started to worry that may be other people are also not receiving emails sometimes and they don't know as they don't have mobile devices.

Transaport rule will strip out all custom hyperlinks in the email

$

We have a transport rule on the Exchange Server to add signatures to outgoing emails for certain people.

The rule description is like this:

Apply rule to messages

from a member of 'some people'

'append' '

some text for the signature.' and fallback to 'wrap' if unable to apply.

Now the problem is, if there is a custom protocol hyperlink within the email, after the email is sent, the hyperlink will be removed from the email.

For example, for this email content:

Line1 text 1

Line 2 text 2

After this email is sent, the hyperlink for text 1 will be stripped out. Whoever receives the email will see it like this (text 1 is still a hyperlink, but pointing to nowhere, and no problem for text2):

Line1 text 1

Line 2 text 2

(horizontal line)

some text for the signature.

Can anybody help to figure out how to get around this? Is this a bug on Exchange Server?

Dirsynced user not showing as mail user in Office 365

Hello,

We have an environment that has a on premise Exchange 2010 SP3 server. We have created the hybrid configuration with Office 365. Directory Synchronization is enabled.

At this point we have some on premise users that are showing "Synced with Active Directory" in the O365 portal, but do not have a mail user.

We are in the midst of performing mailbox migrations to Office 365, and the only way to perform the move to Exchange online is for the user to have a Mail user setup in Contacts on the O365 portal.

Ive seen other forums with the option of Remove-MsolUser and removing from recycle bin then allowing another synchronization from on premise.

Ive also read that Microsoft has helped this situation by doing something to the AD Attributes which they do not go into detail about.

Could someone shed on some light to what could be done to add these users as Mail Users to Office 365 without removing them from Office 365 completely?

Renewed Self-Signed Certificate Now getting the name on the security certificate is invalid by internal clients

The self-signed certificates had expired. I clicked on Renew Certificate and it completed. Now all internal network Outlook Clients are getting an error that states The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name on the site. It looks like it changed the server name to internal domain name - server name - ca. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

Thank you,

Upper cases in email address - Exchange Server 2010

$

I created email address policy in Exchange Server 2010 that produces three email addresses for every user mailbox/distribution group. Two of them contains capital letters, for example user Bojan Živković has two email addresses with capital letters B.Zivkovic@ . . . and Bojan.Zivkovic@ . . . with the latter as primary SMTP address. Up to now I had no problems at all but I have read that use of capital letters in email address can cause issues. If so what should I do? Modifying existing email address policy does not remove existing email addresses created earlier but only adds new addresses. And I have almost 400 users and 200 distribution groups, so manually modifications of their email addresses is not a good option.

Resource Room Calendar Replies: wrong date format recurring meetings and wrong time for for conflicts

Hi All,

Apparently my customer just noticed that exchange 2010 SP3 even if have the date format on EN-US instead of EN-GB when the resource room send a reply to a recurring meeting:

"Occurs every Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM effective 1/25/2017 until 2/8/2017. There are 3 more occurrences.

Your request was accepted.

Your request was accepted through 2/8/2017.
All times listed are in the following time zone: (UTC+00:00) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London"

And when a conflict happens the reply display the time in 12h instead of 24h format

Your request was declined because there are conflicts.

The conflicts are:
Organizer and Time of Conflicting Meeting
   USername - Monday, January 23, 2017 3:00:00 to Monday, January 23, 2017 4:00:00

I checked the setting for the room, all is correct:

DateFormat : dd/MM/yyyy
Language : en-GB
DefaultFolderNameMatchingUserLanguage : False
TimeFormat : HH:mm
TimeZone : GMT Standard Time
Identity :
IsValid : True

Does anyone know a fix/workaround for this issue?

I see a lot of posts about the issue but no solution to it.

Many Thanks

I cannot delete my GOOGLE CONTACT folder

I keep getting contacts in my outlook GOOGLE CONTACTS FOLDER, I do not want any input from my google account. I have deleted all contacts from existing google GMAIL account and deleted all unused google accounts that I know of. It seems there is a GOOGLE CONTACTS folder in the EXCHANGE server that keeps shoving contacts into my OUTLOOK PEOPLE web app and into my PC OUTLOOK program.

How can I eliminate this connection and those contacts. I have tried everything I know.

Continuous Backup solution for Exchange Server 2010

$

Hi, I'm using Exchange Server 2010 with DAG. My users created some rules in Outlook. The rule is move messages from someone to personal folder. My backup schedule is set to 9:00 pm everyday. We found cannot recover some email if the user enable that rules because the email moved to personal folder directly. My question is have any backup solution or third party software can continuous backup the Exchange Server 2010 without data loss?

I enabled Journal backup to keep all incoming and outgoing messages, but it hard to recover to single mailbox.

Thank you!

Delete personal archive of a non existent user

Hi,

I have an Exchange 2010 environment. Four months ago, we deleted a mailbox and its user from Active Directory, and he had archive enabled.

The retention policy is 30 days. Today we have launch a Get-MailboxStatistics command and in the results, the Personal archive of that user appears, and it is occupying 10 GB.

Is there any way to delete thar personal archive and reclaim that space?

Should not have been deleted 30 days after the deletion of the mailbox, according with the retention period?

Thanks

Thread-Index header changing unexpectedly

Dear experts,

As far as I understood, the first 22 bytes of Thread-Index prefix should not change within a Conversation.

In light of the aforementioned, does the following scenario seem right or buggy to you?

We have email conversations broken apart as shown below:

User A replies to the conversation with Letter 1

Thread-Index: Ac4jv85MRhFu7QhERbKaF8pLydgqdwAB/D1wAADnl6AAACAQYAAC7pqwAAfVgNA=

Then User B replies to Letter 1 with Letter 2 and it gets a new thread index

Then User A responds to Letter 2 with Letter 3 that returns the initial thread index prefix

Pulling email alias after mailbox has been deleted

Hello,

Is there a way to pull a list of email alias that a user had after exchange deleted the mailbox?

No existing Publicfolder matches the identity '\'

$

We are in the process of migrating from Exch 2003 to 2010. Despite a troublesome installation of 2010, most seems OK. However we have the following issues with Public folders and replication:

on the 2010 server, EMC tools Public folder management console cannot connect to or view the public folder DB "No existing PublicFolder matches the following identity: '\'

Public folders do appear to be replicating since the DB matches the size of the DB on the 2003 server. We can view public folder content from a test mailbox on the 2010 server but the exch2003 server reports all public folders are "Local Modified" instead of "In Sync". In Exchange system manager -> tools -> Monitoring & Status -> Status - the new 2010 server is reported as "unreachable" and if you select properties a pop-up reports:
"Unable to connect to the WMI service
....
ID no c1038692"
It reports that the new server is stopped and it can't find the state of the server's services.
- all services are running normally on both servers.

Any help much appreciated.

Exchange 2010 - Event ID 8528 - Microsoft Exchange Federation Mailbox is full

Hi,

We are getting the following warning every 10 minutes on a Exchange 2010 server:

The mailbox for /o=COMPANY/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT)/cn=Recipients/cn=FederatedEmail.4c1f4d8b-8179-4148-93bf-00a9 has exceeded the maximum mailbox size. This mailbox cannot send or receive messages. Incoming messages to this mailbox are returned to sender. The mailbox owner should be notified about the condition of the mailbox as soon as possible.

I have been searching and searching but I cannot find much information on this Federation Mailbox other than the fact that it's an arbitration mailbox and that it is used for federation between different Exchange organizations and is available since Exchange 2010. Its display name is Microsoft Exchange Federation Mailbox.

However, I have no clue if it is normal that this mailbox is getting full and if the quota can or should be increased.

Here is some more information about the mailbox:

Exchange 2010 SP3 RU7 - owa/UrlBlockedError.aspx

Hi,

Our environment is an Exchange 2010 SP3 RU7. A user received an email with hypertext links in it. From Outlook client everything works fine but fom OWA if they click on them you get a "this link has been disabled to protect your security" error message and the url is "owa/UrlBlockedError.aspx" .

After several searches it turns out that this problem was known under Exchange 2007 but corrected in 2010 or our infrastructure is already in 2010 but we undergo this problem. Also some blogs have discussed this issue but nothing convincing:

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/d966885b-0b57-4811-bbab-af8898c21141/this-link-has-been-disabled-to-protect-your-security?forum=exchange2010

React to AD Changes made with Powershell

$

0

Hello,

I am in an environment with 5000+ Users. Everyday we have a lot of changes in our Active Directory. Most of those changes are made by Powershell based on data that is stored inside an OpenLDAP, SMTP(Mail) Adresses(Mailbox) are created based on an exchange policy after a new User was created. Now to my question. One of the changes, for our existing users done by Powershell, that happen quite often are name changes because of marriage e.g.. Our exchange server won´t react to those changes so the SMTP(Mail) Adress stays unchanged. If we change the name manually inside the AD Mangement Console the Exchange server reacts and creates a new Alias. Is there any exchange policy that allows the Exchange server to react to changes made with Powershell and create an Alias with the new name?

Best Regards

Jan
