On all my mailboxes on exchange 2010 sp3 I see an email address blah@test.com. I don't see this email address in the email address Policies in the Org Configuration. How do I go about removing this manually from all the mailbox users ... i proly need a shell command to remove this email address.

I have an application that use remote PowerShell sessions to create/access Exchange objects. It works fine but noticed something interesting today. The owner of all the accounts is the computer account (computername$) and not the credentials I started the PowerShell session as.
I was able to recreate this from my workstation by opening the Exchange Shell and executing this command:
New-MailContact -Alias eraseme1 -name eraseme1 -ExternalEmailAddress eraseme@nowhere.com -OrganizationalUnit "mydomain.com\ou"
The object was created but is owned (in AD) by the CAS server I happen to be connected to.
I can also see this when I run the Add-ADPermission cmdlet. It will fail with insufficient permissions because it is using the CAS computer account rather than my Exchange Admin credentials.
I figure I need to make a config setting change in order to have my credentials pass-through to the computer I am remoting to.
Any advice?

I have Exchange 2010 SP2 environment and have enabled mailbox auditing for several users. Also i need to monitor changes that has made by administrators. so I have done following changes on the system.
1. add myself to record management group.
2. Add .xml file extension on the OWA.
3. Log on to OWA and run an Admin role group report. (nothing come out as a report)
4. Run a none-owner mailbox access report. (report came)
5. Click and run export report to myself as a email. (No email)
Where did i miss? please help me on this.

I am using Symantec BackupExec to with a job run on the Passive Copy of the DAG
when the job starting and reachs the "Updaing Catalogs" activity for every DB, the Active Copy Server of the DAG logs a 2 EVENTs followed:
EVENT ID 914: "Information Store (5168) The surrogate backup by MY-EXC-SRV has stopped with error 0xC8000777"
EVENT ID 914 :"Information Store (5168) MY-EXC-DB: The backup has been stopped because it was halted by the client or the connection with the client failed."
Although the Backup Job finished successfully on the Passive copy.. and i can manage restores.
but upon this error - the "Microsoft Exchange Writer" kept in status error on theActive Copy Server and i cannot run SME to backup it - until i make restart to whole server..
Symantec Forums doesn't have an exact answer, just in one Forum they tell to contact MS
cause need to expand the "timeout" between the active and the passive..
anyone workaround? suggestion?

Over the past two weeks we started getting multiple errors from application servers that generate reports to be sent to our SMTP/Exchange server to customers.
I see this in the event logs on the CAS. (I don't know if this is the cause)

The connection from IP address [10.11.12.13] is being dropped. The rate of connections from this IP address has exceeded the configured limit '1229' per minute.
Error messages from application servers;
1. Error message: 4.3.1 Insufficient system resources SMTP Error: 452
2. Error message: MNet::SocketImpl::Receive() - FAIL. The ::recv could not be completed because the connection has been closed. Socket Error: -1 Unknown error
3. SMTP Connect Error - Server closed data connection
Does anyone know what to look for to troubleshoot this?
So the flow is Application Server -> SMTP address (10.11.12.13 Load Balancer) -> CAS Exchange Server
The Load Balancer logs show traffic passing straight thru, no filtering there, so we are almost 100% sure its some setting or threshold on the CAS servers.

Trying to install Address Book Policy Transport Agent on our Exchange 2010 SP3 server.
Install failes with error that "Microsoft.Exchange.Transport.Agent.AddressBookPloicyRoutingAgent.dll" doesn't exist.
When checking the path (-AssemblyPath $env:ExchangeInstallPath\TransportRoles\agents\AddressBookPolicyRoutingAgent) I see that there is no AddressBookPolicyRoutingAgent folder.
I thought these files was installed with SP2 ?
Anyone experience the same situation ?

I've set up ECP and given Help Desk role to a few people to manage others OoO settings.
It's working fine for most of the mailboxes, but not for a few.
And I can't manage them either with Organization Management role.
I can't see any difference between their mailbox object when listing it from powershell get-mailbox.
Is there any setting I'm missing?

We created a new DAG yesterday and got two of the IP's mixed up. So we removed and re added the DAG. We are unable though to add or remove a server from it. The error below continues to pop up.

We are running Exchange 2010 single site. Now our boss wants a complete Data Center Redundancy for Exchange, he wants a complete data center switch over automatically. We have a simple current scenario, our MX record is hosted at our ISP, they rout emails to our public IP, ie our Firewall interface, and then firewall passes it to spam filter and then to hub transport. Actually we already have a connected DR where we only have an Exchange Server with Hub and CAS roles (not included in primary data center's CAS NLB) and a DAG member which holds all the passive copies. Please help me out in automatic Data Center Fail over scenario, what shell we have at our DR (means another firewall router and spam filter) and how it will automatically fail over if primary data center goes down and how much time will it take to come alive.

We have an exchange server setup for multiple domains. I have a few users that have accounts/mailboxes on both domains. I need them to be able to send as the secondary mailbox. I have it configured so that their primary domain is the primary account in outlook (2010) and the secondary domain is an add-on mailbox in the same profile. If they receive an email into the secondary mailbox and reply to it, it automatically places the correct email address in the FROM box as it should and tehy can send. If they try to bring up a new message and then enter the secondary email address in the FROM box, the messages bounce back immiediately. If I attempt to reply to a message sent to that secondary mailbox and copy/paste the persons name from the FROM box and paste it into the FROM box on the new email message, it sends correctly. Is this something new and "by design" or is there something I need to do on the server side to allow them to simply type in their correct email address into the FROM box and send from that mailbox. When I try to install PST Capture Console, I get an error message, "You must have Windows PowerShell 3.0 installed in order to install this product."
However, I am running Win8.1 so it already comes installed. I'm able to run PowerShell without any problems. I read the Prerequisites and all are met (or exceeded).. If I try to install .NET framework, it says I have a newer version already
installed. I have Outlook 2013. I am using PowerShell 4.0.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Does it have to be PowerShell v3.0? (and not a newer version?) If so, I how do remove 4.0 and install an older version (3.0)?
I have a Domain Controller in site XXXX and another Domain Controller in site ZZZZ. I am trying to install Exchange 2010 at the ZZZZ site.
The Server is joined to the XXXX Domain. There are trusts set up between the two Domains.
The Exchange 2010 doesn't see the trusted site during Hub Transport Role Prerequisites, Client Access Role Prerequisites, or Mailbox Role prerequisites.
I have checked the permissions (Security Settings) on all the AD interfaces. Any ideas?
in 4 hours the transaction logs have grown to 100GB. How do I fix this?
There are no errors in event viewer. Backup exec 2010 R3 SP3 ran a backup was successfull and did remove the logs last nite.
I have taken the database offline and ran esutil /ml dbname. The database on both dags is in clean shutdown.

I am looking for some recommendations as to which direction to head in to expand my current Exchange system.
Currently I have a 2 server DAG, 1 physical, 1 virtual, with a separate virtual CA/HT server (different VM host) all within our office.
The requirement is to have a full working server offsite in case of disaster affecting our physical building. The datacenter will be connected via 100mbs private LAN.
Currently the DAG server 1 hosts live databases A and B. with copies of C and D.
DAG server 2 hosts live databases C and D along with A and B copies.
My plan was to have the new remote Exchange 2010 server host copies of A,B,C and D as a third member of the DAG. Optimally I'd like to have the CA/HT roles reside on that server as well, but also act as a fail-over in case the local CAS is down.
I remember in my studies of Exchange 2010 CAS arrays that multi-site needs to be treated differently in case the link fails and you have 2 live copies on different sites, so I need to take that into consideration.
Also, can I install just the DB server role for now to get the data replicating offsite and worry about adding the CA/HT roles to it later, or am I asking for trouble?
Everything works beautifully right now, I just want to expand to the DR site without breaking it.

however when I run it, it has some errors (pipeline not executed because a pipeline is already executing) , on the whole it works and gives me what I want, with the exception of the mailboxes where I get the error, I would however like to get it to work fully and export the result to a txt file if possible.

We migrated from exchange 2003 to 2010. We have 1 mailbox server and 1 hub&cas server. All clients are MS outlook 2010. We created a new offline address book and enabled web distribution for it. Mailbox server is generating the OAB and CAS server is downloading the OAB and clients are able to download OAB from CAS server. The problem is when we create a new mailbox user, contact or any updation to existing user, it not updating the global address list in OAB. But from OWA and outlook without cache mode we are able to see the updation.
Please help me.
