In our Exchange environment, I did not do anything to configure autodiscover when I set up Exchange because we did not support Outlook clients from outside the Domain. When I run Get-AutodiscoverVirtualDirectory, the result lists the following for each Exchange 2010 or 2007 CAS server:
Name
Server InternalUrl
Autodiscover (Default Web Site) CASserver1
where CASserver1 is the name of the first CAS server listed, and the rest of the CAS servers are listed below that with "Autodiscover (Default Web Site)" as the name and nothing listed under InternalUrl. I have 2 Exchange 2010 and 2 Exchange
2007 CAS servers in the primary site and 2 Exchange 2010 CAS in the secondary site. The two 2010 CAS in the primary site are in a CAS array.
I now need to configure the autodiscover service in the Exchange environment because of installing Lync. I have seen some articles about the autodiscover configuration, but nothing that seems complete.
Is there anything more to install, or do I just create a DNS record for autodiscover.mycorp.com that points to the address of the CAS array in the primary site? What do I need in the certificate that I use for this? Will I need an autodiscover URL for each of the Exchange 2010 CAS servers in the primary site, or do I need a single URL for the CAS array? The Exchange 2007 servers will be going away soon, so I don't want them being used for this.
I do not have an Exchange Edge server.
Thank you very much for your help.
